About our afternoon child care
Ossie Shika –Manager
I completed my studies at Beit Berl in 1989, and worked for 14 years in the Ministry of Education as a manager of kindergartens and integrated first grade classes. I completed graduate studies in diagnosis and treatment of children with learning disabilities. I use the tools and skills from my studies to educate the children using value-mediated and supportive learning throughout all stages of learning in the afternoon and in the kindergarten. In the afternoon program I emphasize social values and combine volunteering activities in the community with parents and children.
Agenda
Our afternoon child care facility has been working in this format for more than 20 years. Throughout the years of experience and learning, this program of work has been developed. This program has worked with with many children with high learning abilities who learn in a variety of excellence programs (Mofet, Nachshon). Our program develops mathematical thinking, reading comprehension and creative thinking. In addition, we enrich the English language as a necessary communication tool in the modern world.
Activities
Cooking, arts and crafts
We create different things using recycled raw materials, such as bags from T-shirts, key-rings from polystyrene, scent bags and paintings. In addition, every Thursday the children bake pastries and go home with a fun and yummy memory for the weekend.
Producing a movie !
choose a subject, develop a script, and start filming. During the filming we encourage responsibility, team-work and allocation of roles. The children certainly enjoy the process! At this stage we are building creativity and self-confidence in front of a camera.
Dancing
Every week, we have "Just Dance" activities, in which we give the children a chance to divide themselves into groups and choose a song that they'll perform. The activity is experiential, fun and especially sporty.

Agenda
The annual work plan is the "didactic" content of the framework. The things around them will be able to evolve the children's mental development and which can serve as a basis for connecting the parents to the kindergarten. Through various topics, the children are exposed to a variety of subjects, experiences and are exposed to measured portions of the world around them. A good annual plan that takes into account the events throughout the year, the age and maturity of the children, and the world of content that’s relevant to their lives and interests.

Movement
Activity
The sport activity is given by a sports teacher, a Wingate graduate who comes once a
week for a 35 minutes activity. The teacher works with the children through music and equipment suited for their age and ability.
Music
From infancy it is advisable to expose the child to all the music styles in order to help them develop curiosity and a good musical ear. Therefore we have a collection of songs from all times and styles that we play to the children everyday.
